On November 5th, 2014, employees from ShiftWise and Nurses PRN teamed up to help out Habitat for Humanity in the Windy City (Chicago, IL). The Windy City Habitat for Humanity builds and sells homes to families using the funds and volunteers provided by corporate, faith-based and individual sponsors.
Homes are built by volunteers and partner families on the basis of need, ability to re-pay mortgage, and a willingness to invest sweat equity labor into Habitat’s work. The affordable mortgage payments the families make are deposited into a Fund for Humanity, which helps pay for the construction of more homes.
On this day the team worked hard to lay down flooring on the upstairs portion of the house and tiled the downstairs.
ShiftWise Vice President of Marketing and Sales Jeff Niles explains, “Anytime you get a chance to give back to the community, it makes you feel good. And to do it with a partner like Nurses PRN who has a strong reputation for community involvement… even better. I am proud to have business partners like Nurses PRN that really walk the walk when it comes to giving back.”
Nurses PRN President Pete Hietpas shared, “It was great! Nurses PRN is fortunate to do business with an industry partner who shares similar values. We consider it a real honor when a business associate will step outside the walls of where our regular business is conducted and accept our invitation to join us in a community service initiative. What better way for us to show the community in which both Nurses PRN and ShiftWise conducts business in than by giving back through our time, talent and treasure.
